Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden trophy for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a former world number one, has endured a torrid period, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.
Now working with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court since that period of the previous year.
Success also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 championships at 21 various competitions.
"For the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is really nice," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six finals, including in the German tournament in the past months.
His counter-punching approach and frequent emotional displays on court had prompted observers to question if his skill to perform at the top level was over.
However the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and play aggressively, backed up by an improved serving game.
He came back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, securing 4 of the last five points to take the lead.
The competitors traded breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his initial ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to create a decider.
Moutet saved four initial break points in a close deciding set before the champion broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet failing to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
